The Museum is a pink neo-classical building, the former Faculdade de Medicina
with Museu Afro-Brasileiro on the ground floor
and Museu de Arqueologia e Etnologia in the basement

it's a neo-classical building with a tropical garden
The Museu de Arqueologia e Etnologia is in the basement
The Museum is in the basement, in the former Jésuite college, in a beautiful ancient part of the monument, from the XVIIIth Century, with beautiful red stones arcades and a small tropical garden in the middle
